I don’t feel it’s fair as I pay for the premium subscription with unlimited analysis. I often want to analyze OTB games right after I finished them and I can’t do it on my phone.

It’s so easy to do it on lichess but you can’t do it here. Other thing I really don’t like about chess com app is that you can’t use analyze board on app. I lost countless number of games because of that. When you force restart the app, it just doesn’t start but rather is stuck and you have to repeat the launch many times until eventually it comes back. The biggest issue I had - and was also confirmed by my friend - when you switch from WiFi to mobile internet or other way around - the app says that the connection is lost, and there’s no easy way to get back online. More importantly, there are some critical bugs still in place. Maybe it’s because of the animation time, rerendering, etc. No matter the chess board style, it feels sluggish compared to lichess app. The app looks solid and smooth from the first glance, with the nice design system, however as a chess player I tend to care more about how the gameplay is implemented, app’s performance and how it handles different network broadbands. Hello engineering team, I have been using the app for 2 years (nickname igorthebest17) and this has definitely been a wild ride. Click "Choose" and on the screen that follows you can decide which color to play as well as if hints and takebacks are allowed.Īn honest feedback from 2 years experience Tap on it, and then you can choose the playing level, from 400-3200 (Level 1-Level 25). Scrolling to the bottom you can find the original Engine. You can still play against the original engine at any difficulty level! If you're already in a game against a Bot, tap on New Game to view the Bot player list.

It is very rare when a developer considers the possibility that some users will not like an update and offer an opportunity to revert back to the original version and so I have changed my rating accordingly to reflect the excellent support received! I am super impressed that the time was taken to reply to me and point out my stupidity! Thank you for your prompt help.

I hastily wrote the original review above and with in a few days received a reply from the developer explaining that the original solo gameplay was still available and how to access it. Really enjoyed playing solo on the previous version but now you are forced to play against silly caricatures!? Really don’t like it and wish I had never updated! Much preferred the simpler style of the old version. This app is built by players and enthusiasts who really love chess!
